Bald Eagle

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Printed on pure white o-gami paper

The Bald Eagle is a large bird of prey that dives down from its large treetop nest (the largest nests of any bird in North America) to snatch fish from oceans, lakes, and streams to feed upon. It gets its name from its characteristic white head and tail. This opportunistic feeder is the national symbol of the United States, but at one time was nearly hunted to extinction! In 2007, it was removed from the endangered species list. Now, we take special care to preserve its habitats. Fortunately, this species thrives in virtually any wetland or coast in the North American continent. These effects are magnified by its relatively long life cycle: it takes the Green Salamander as long as 7-8 years to reach reproductive maturity.  These prints are numbered and signed by the artist. There are only 3 prints left. Once those are gone there will be no more available.
