Black Bear
Ursus americanus
Printed on aztec gold o-gami paper
The Black Bear is a species of medium-sized bear native to the American Northeast and the Appalachian Range. It is an omnivore, feeding on a variety of different flora and fauna depending on seasonal conditions. Female Black Bears can weigh anywhere from 90-375lbs, but males can weigh as much as 550lbs. However, the largest Black Bear ever discovered weighed an estimated 1,100lbs! The bear’s fur is multi-layered, with a soft underfur hidden beneath a coarse, long outer fur that protects from frigid winter cold. Black Bears prefer living in mountainous, highly-vegetated areas. These effects are magnified by its relatively long life cycle: it takes the Green Salamander as long as 7-8 years to reach reproductive maturity. These prints are numbered and signed by the artist. There are only 3 prints left. Once those are gone there will be no more available.
