Green-faced Clubtail
Gomphus viridifrons
Printed on handmade kozo paper
This species of small dragonfly is commonly found around cool, clean streams in a forested landscape. It responds well to excellent water quality, and its prevalence can be used as an indicator for this. They hunt small insects and are hard to study because of their short lifespan. Gomphus viridifrons is threatened by habitat destruction directly related to the pollution and diversion of streams and waterways. In Southeastern Ohio, acid mine drainage greatly reduced this species’ local population.
There are only 2 of these prints in this edition left for sale. When we sell out we will take the post down.
