Yellow crownbeard
Verbesina occidentalis
Printed on handmade linen paper
The Yellow Crownbeard is a perennial flower native to the central and eastern United States. It can survive in many extreme conditions, and is remarkably resistant to drought. It self-seeds, and flowers with fuzzy yellow petals in late summer and early fall. This species of flower is often found alongside gravel roads and railroad tracks. These effects are magnified by its relatively long life cycle: it takes the Green Salamander as long as 7-8 years to reach reproductive maturity. These prints are numbered and signed by the artist. There are only 4 prints left. Once those are gone there will be no more available.
